Matt Switzer

Matt Switzer is Vice President Corporate Development at Hootsuite – the world’s most widely used social relationship platform with over 10 million users, including 744 of the Fortune 1000 companies. Apart from leading financings and M&A at Hootsuite, he also heads up Hootsuite Labs, Hootsuite’s product innovation team. His successes to date can be attributed to a dynamic career launching and growing companies within the technology and telecommunications sector. He cut his teeth as an early employee at Workbrain, an enterprise software startup that grew to 700 employees and went public in 2003. This experience fuelled his passion for startups and inspired him to pursue a career in finance (venture capital and investment banking) so he could help other promising startups learn from his experiences and grow. Over the course of his career, Switzer has lived and worked in Toronto, Sydney, Hong Kong, and London. He currently resides in his hometown of Vancouver with his wife, a startup entrepreneur, and two daughters.
