Gilbert Rozon is the founding president of the world’s largest comedy festival, the Just for Laughs Festival taking place in Montreal, created over 30 years ago. Through the Just For Laughs Group, it has diversified its business activities into four main areas: festivals, television productions, performances and artist management. He is also the instigator of Le Regroupement des Événements Majeurs Internationaux (REMI) and its Canadian counterpart, the Major Festivals and Events Canada. The leadership of Gilbert Rozon has been awarded the 2007 Quebec Tourism Minister Award and the Peter Ustinov Award Banff World Television Festival. At the request of the Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Nicole Ménard, he chaired the Performance Committee on the tourism industry in Quebec, which tabled its report in May 2011. In 2012, he was inducted into the Canadian tourism Hall of Fame. Gilbert Rozon is Commissioner of the Celebrations marking the 375th anniversary of Montreal in 2017.
